Today in this guide, we're going to show you a few ways to forget about saved Wi-Fi networks on Windows 11.

Windows Store Wi-Fi password?

Whenever you connect to a network, Windows 11 stores your passwords and other Wi-Fi details so it can automatically reconnect the next time you're in range.

However, sometimes you may not want Windows to store or track your network information. In this case, Windows gives you the option to forget the network, which will erase all its information and data. Let's see how to forget Wi-Fi networks saved in Windows 11 in this article.

How to Forget Saved Wi-Fi Networks on Windows 11

These are just a few of the ways Windows allows you to wipe or forget your Wi-Fi network details.

1] Quick Settings Menu

Windows 11's Quick Settings menu is the quickest way to forget about a saved Wi-Fi network, but you have to be within range. So make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on before proceeding. Also, remember the password for your wireless network so you can reconnect later if you need to.

To forget wireless networks using the Quick Settings menu in Windows 11, follow these steps:

  • On the taskbar, click the Quick Settings button near the system clock in the lower right corner. You can also press Windows+A to launch Quick Settings on the keyboard.
  • When the option displays on the Wi-Fi button, click the arrow icon. It will show you a list of all the networks to which you are currently connected.
  • Look for the wireless network you want to delete, then right-click on its name and select the Forget option. Then it will clear your Wi-Fi network configuration.
  • After doing this, Windows will stop trying to connect to the default Wi-Fi network.

If you need to reconnect, go to Quick Settings > Wi-Fi and tap the Connect button. As mentioned above, you will need to enter your password again to complete the connection.

2] Via Windows Settings

Windows 11 also lets you forget Wi-Fi networks that you manually configure through the Settings app. This method allows you to forget about your Wi-Fi network even if you're not in range.

To uninstall a Wi-Fi network from Windows 11 settings, follow these steps:

Press the Windows +Me keys to open the settings menu.

On the left side of Settings, click Network & Internet , then select Wi- Fi from the list.

Next, click on the Manage Known Networks option.

  1. On the next page, click the Forget button next to the button you want to delete. Now, the Wi-Fi network and its data will no longer be accessible.
  2. If you want to reconnect, click Wi-Fi Quick Setup and enter your password.
  3. How to delete all saved wireless networks
  4. If you want to delete all Wi-Fi profiles at once for privacy or security reasons, you don't have to check each entry individually. Note that this method will delete any Wi-Fi network passwords you have stored and disconnect you from your current WiFi network, so make sure you have your login credentials.

If you want to forget about all your Wi-Fi networks, you can use Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt, whichever you prefer. Here I am using PowerShell and these are the steps:

  • Open Windows PowerShell.
  • Type the following command at the PowerShell prompt and press Enter:
  • Netsh wlan delete profile name=* i=*

After executing the command, it deletes your Wi-Fi network history, so you can start over or connect to a network if necessary.
